SmartCat 97 V2.6

SmartCat 97 is a powerful 32bit file/media cataloging and archiving utility that makes it easy to archive, organize and subsequently find all your important data. Tightly integrated into Windows Explorer it has the familiar Windows 95/NT4 look and feel for ease of use.

SmartCat 97's cataloging capabilities allow you to keep track of floppies, CDs, Zip disks etc., including analysis of the internals of Zip files and Zip based self-extractors. Powerful searching facilities allow you to track down that missing file wherever it is, by name, date, size etc.

SmartCat 97's archiving capabilities allow you to offload (to floppy, Zip drives etc.) files that you no longer want cluttering up your system's hard drive, but you want to keep for future reference. You can do this directly from within Explorer, using additions to Explorer's right-mouse button context menu. The files you select are packaged up and moved to the archive medium, and (optionally) the originals are deleted (safely, via the recycle bin). When you need the files back all the powerful SmartCat 97 search facilities are available to locate the files you need, and a complementary restore function lets you retrieve the files with a couple of mouse clicks.
